You must be cautious in treating all employees the same. Even if you think that giving business gifts to one person will not be noticed, you may be surprised. The rest always find out about it somewhere down the line. Even if you are not confronted about it, they will feel resentment towards you and their work may suffer. It is best to stick with giving business gifts for significant work anniversaries, an a corporate goal being reached or retirement.
