Drop a little bit of fish oil into his dog food. Dosing is a little tricky to figure out, since many dogs vary in their sensitivity to the addition of fish oil. For dogs ranging in the medium size, go for about ¼ of a teaspoon to start with. Add or subtract by droplets depending on weight, signs of improvement, or loose bowels.

While over the counter antihistamines can be helpful in the treatment of dog skin allergies, it is always best to check with your veterinarian before administering. There are a few things that you will going to need to be aware of if you are going to start bathing your kitten.  The first is that you either clip the claws beforehand to avoid injury to yourself.  The second is that you avoid getting the head, eyes, and ears wet to avoid harming the kitten.  The third is to dry the kitten as quickly as possible, to keep the kitten bath from making your pet sick.

The short and long haired Dachshunds are more common than the wire-haired.  The short haired variety has hair that is typically 1/4 inch long and takes very little grooming.

As you guessed, the long-haired Dachshund has long wavy hair.  It’s hair can reach several inches in length and requires daily grooming or it can tangle and cause knots.

The wire-haired Doxie looks like it has coarse rough hair but it’s quite soft despite its appearance. Sometimes their face reminds me of a Schnauzer/Dachshund mix.  This type of dog requires daily grooming to keep that neat look.
