Celiac and Genetics
There are obvious genetic links that prove that family members with a gluten allergy tend to have other family members with gluten allergies. Some physician assume that if there was colon cancer in the family, that a gluten allergy could be genetic as the destruction of the cilia can eventually lead to cancer of the intestinal tract. If you are not responding to treatments that are designed to treat issues like chronic fatigue syndrome or irritable bowel syndrome, insist on testing for Celiac disease. You can take the initiative to ensure that you are eliminating gluten from your diet. In most cases, you will have to find a store that specializes in gluten free products as it is a very common ingredient. Even your condiments can contain gluten. You can also cook your own food using gluten free recipes.
