Fixing Faulty Blender Parts
One of the most frustrating things about all of the cheap appliances made overseas these days is that little parts break or wear out sometimes, and stores don’t sell what you need to fix them. It seems as though many people just throw their old blender away when one little part breaks or is missing. They only cost around $20 for the cheapest models anyway! While doing this is pretty easy, it isn’t very environmentally responsible. Fortunately, you can get most of the things you need online.
I’ve had a Hamilton Beach blender on my kitchen counter for about 5 years now, and it is still running strong. The motor itself is very rugged, and won’t usually cause problems unless you run it for a long time without giving it a rest. The only problem I had with it was actually my fault. The blender jar fell out of the dish drainer and cracked on the floor. Since I couldn’t find another jar at the store I bought it from, I just did a google search for “Hamilton Beach blender replacement parts” and found just what I was looking for. Just a couple of clicks, and a new blender jar was delivered right to my house.
A few of the other parts that commonly wear out are the blades, the gasket, and the rotor attachment. The blades are very thin, and sometimes one of them just breaks off during normal use. As for the thin rubber gasket that keeps the juice from seeping from the screwed-on base, sometimes it wears out and breaks, and other times people just misplace it when they disassemble their unit to wash it. These little guys cost only a dollar in most cases. Many of the major blender brands like Oster have cheap plastic parts that connect the blade assembly to the motor. This plastic piece wears out after a while usually, and the blade starts slipping. Like any other brand, find an Osterizer blender part online.
