Making Wedding Dresses From Patterns
While many women sewed dresses in the past, the art of sewing is lost to most of today’s working women. We simply don’t have time to sew dresses for scratch, and lets face it, the dresses we can buy at the local stores or online are miles cheaper. Unless you’re talking about wedding dresses.
Wedding dresses, at least designer dresses, can run as much as $15,0o0. Of course you can buy used dresses for a fraction of that cost, but what if you don’t want a used dress? Using wedding dress sewing patterns you can have your dress made by qualified seamstresses. The cost varies, depending on the amount of bead work and appliques that need to be applied to the dress. The cost can also vary by material. Satins and silks can be harder to work with so your seamstress may charge more for those fabrics.
An easy way to find out the cost of making a dress is to visit a few seamstresses with a pattern and swatches and get the quotes.
