Surgically Removing Hemorrhoids
Unfortunately, not all hemorrhoids can be removed simply by using a good hemorrhoid treatment and following a strict diet, sometimes surgery is a necessity. If this is the case, one can typically expect to be in the hospital for at least one night although there are instances where you can go home later in the same day. Suring the surgery, the doctor will tie off the vein that is supplying blood to the hemorrhoid and also to remove some of the surrounding tissue. They will ask you to follow a special diet and might also perform an enema prior to the surgery. Discomfort and pain are extremely normal after this type of surgery. Typically recovering takes anywhere from two to three weeks and should insure no recurrence of the hemorrhoid problems.
